Using the site
You may use the site for any lawful purpose. Please do not try to break it or misuse it: no attacks, no attempts to get around Turnstile, the spam filter or rate limits, no automated or bulk form submissions, and no use of the forms or the AI button for anything other than contacting us.
What we publish
The Ideas journal shares our opinions, notes and concepts. Concept products such as the Humanly Phone, Slate and Watch are design explorations: they are not for sale and nothing on the site is an offer to sell them. We try to be accurate, but articles are general information, not professional, legal, financial or security advice.
Software, downloads and install scripts
Each app is covered by its own licence. Where an app is open source, its licence (for example MIT or Apache 2.0, shown on its page and in its repository) governs your use of it. Otherwise our EULA applies. Apps with their own website or app store listing are also covered by the terms published there.
Install scripts on humanly.is download official releases and check their SHA-256 checksums. They are provided as is. Please read a script before running it; you can open it in your browser.
Custom development
Sending a project enquiry does not create a contract. Any work we agree to do is covered by a separate written agreement. Offers to build small ideas for free or a nominal fee are at our discretion, and what we build under them may be open-sourced or shared on our site, as described on the custom development page.
AI features
The “Rewrite with AI” button suggests wording for your own note. Suggestions can be wrong; check them before you send. You are responsible for what you submit. See the Privacy Policy for how submissions are processed.
Intellectual property
The site’s text, drawings, design and the Humanly name and marks belong to Humanly Systems Ltd unless stated otherwise. You may quote short passages with a link back. Third-party names and logos (for example operating system and app store marks) belong to their owners and are used only to identify platforms.
Links to other sites
We link to other websites, including project sites, GitHub and app stores. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.
Liability
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, unless the law of the country where you live as a consumer gives you other rights.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
